This video of Laurel and Hardy is perhaps close to home for some people who pad their resumes or take liberties for a long walk with their «facts.»

This may be done by some in other professions, but my experience is that those in our profession generally do not embellish (or worse) when it comes to their resumes.

There is a difference between writing a resume that speaks to the interests and needs of a client, highlighting some facts and pushing others into the shadows, just as any «marketing piece» would, and actually falsely presenting the reality. Can’t say I have seen the latter from the professionals I have had the pleasure of working with in this industry.
