Message from the Chairman
by Steven Ferry
As touched upon elsewhere in this issue, this month marks the beginnings of an important initiative in the world of the hospitality butler: the training of 27 professors at St. Benilde college of the De La Salle University in Manilla. Filipinos are famous the world over for boosting the ranks of hospitality and even private service with solicitous service. De La Salle reached out to form a partnership with the Institute to set up a butler course that will train hundreds of hospitality executives and butlers on the butler department and services. The Institute will guide the creation of the curriculum and provide ongoing quality control and certification. We wish the staff at St. Benilde good fortune in their pioneering program.
The Institute is dedicated to raising service standards by broadly disseminating the mindset and superior service expertise of that time-honored, quintessential service provider, the British Butler, updated with modern people- skills, and adapted to the needs of modern employers and guests in staffed homes, luxury hotels, resorts, spas, retirement communities, jets, yachts & cruise ships around the world.
