Protecting Carbon Steel Components From Rusting
Flatware containing carbon steel components (knife blades and fork tines) can be guarded against rusting by hand washing the knives and forks in warm water after the meal and drying them immediately. As a next step, apply a very thin layer of Burt’s Bees Lip Balm and wipe with a paper towel until there is no residue remaining. As this product is non-toxic, the cutlery will not need to be washed again prior to the next use.
